Tips for teachers

Market your own class: Let everyone in your own community know you're teaching it and encourage them to sign up. On our end, we also do everything we can to announce your class and broadcast it through our website, facebook, social networks, other arts organizations and so forth. We are marketing partners. Each of us must reach as many people as possible.

Make a complete list of all materials you need prior to teaching your class, and share it with us. We may be able to donate some materials, if we have them. We'll have a better idea of where to look for them if we see your list ahead of time.

Do some math. Figure out what to charge students so it's worth your time and effort to teach your class, and also so the room fee is covered for the time you're doing it. Make sure to account for your materials, if you're providing them as part of what you're charging your students. Let your students know exactly what they are expected to bring.

Your room fees are due on your class day. Pay in the front studio with Visa, Mastercard, Debit card, Paypal, cash (or even your check- if we approve it in advance).

Key checkout is also in the front studio.

If you are teaching a class using paints, brushes, gooey stuff or if you have food at your class/event, bring your own paper towels, rags and cleaning supplies so you can take care of any spills and cleanup immediately.

If you're holding a class or presentation with a laptop and you need the internet or projector, arrange to visit with us ahead of time so we can make sure your computer sees these and that everything works ok.

Be on time for your own class. You set the precedent for your students. If you are running late or have to cancel, do the right thing and let your students and us know. Their email addresses and contact info are all inside the online calendar. You should print out or write down a complete roster with everyone's contact info and keep it with you all the time. McGrews is not responsible for letting your students know you are running late or that you have to cancel. We might do it as a courtesy, but we're busy too!

        YOU?

These are a few of the artists who have work on display or for sale in the boutique.

They collaborate and subcontract.
About a half dozen are designers-in-residence.
All are available for your custom commissions.

Many are quite content to not have individual web pages here. They'd rather you discover something about them through their creations, so come see!
